Apostle Dr Charles A. Marquez, Jr.

Apostle Charles A. Marquez, Jr. was reared in the Church of God in Christ. He served faithfully for nine years under the watch and leadership of Pastor James Williams of St. James Ministries Church of God in Christ. He served first as a licensed minister before God elevated him to an ordained elder of the church.

He has been married to First Lady Verlisar Marquez for 42 years. They have four children: Keyana, Alisha, Charles, III and Tyrell and 8 grandchildren:  Teddy, Ariel, Charles, IV, Cherish, Ka’maj Da’Kayla, Alaya, and Amir.

Apostle Marquez has always had a love for street ministry.  He began to walk in his calling by preaching on the street corners, under bridges and anywhere there was hopelessness.  He would spread the gospel of hope, which is Jesus Christ.  He began serving the homeless community right after hurricane Katrina.  He and his wife, First Lady Marquez, began to minister on the street serving food twice every week. The food was prepared in their home with their own finances, always trusting that God would provide.  Apostle Marquez and Sis. Marquez would also provide clothes as well as getting people to rehab facilities and finding temporary and permanent housing.

In 2010, Apostle Marquez received his doctorate degree in Theology from A.P. Clay Bible College.  Two years later God led him to become the founder and president of Kenner Christian Theological Bible College (kctbcollege.net).

Apostle Marquez also has a heart for foreign mission and evangelism.  When a devastating earthquake hit Haiti in 2010, he didn’t hesitate to go to Haiti with the blessings and support of Supt. James Williams and the St. James Ministries Church of God in Christ church family. There he met our beloved the late Bishop Simeon.

In 2012, he and Apostle Joseph Cook formed a bond of brotherly love and began their missionary journey together.  They ministered in the Philippines and helped set up a health clinic.

In 2014, God called Apostle Marquez into the pastoral ministry. He is the founder and pastor of The Living Word Church International (LWCI) / Facebook: Living Word Kenner. LWCIC’s mission is to make a global impact by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ by way of evangelism and home and foreign mission.

In 2015, Apostle Marquez founded Global Faith Fellowship, Inc., which is a fellowship of churches that do the work of God by the mission work in these United States and beyond. Apostle Marquez is also the Presiding Prelate of Global Faith Fellowship, Inc.  He and the mission team have been a blessing to the residents of the impoverished Okanta Village in Ghana, West Africa. They have preached the Word of God and have given away food and clothing.  They have also sponsored students so they can remain in school. In 2023 following last year’s mission trip to Ghana, Apostle Marquez returned with a burning desire to build freshwater wells for God’s people. With the help of generous donations, 6 freshwater wells were built.  In 2024, with the help of generous donations from missionaries, lay members, churches, Pastors, and a community organization, 19 barrels of clothes, shoes and medical supplies were shipped to the Okanta Village, and 2 additional freshwater wells and one communal bathroom were built. In a one-year period, a total of 8 freshwater wells were built.  Apostle Marquez has preached the gospel in 11 different countries and planted churches in Haiti and in Africa.  John 6:29 This is the work of God.

All that God has allowed Apostle Marquez to accomplish and the degrees and titles he has attained, the one that describes him the most is SERVANT.
